We contracted NW Residential and Commercial Painting to paint our Condos. We have 3 Houses in our complex, and they were all built around 1900. We are pretty picky when it comes to keeping them looking great.

We got a total of 8 different bids. Travis’ was the 2nd best bid. After speaking to the top 3 bids, and doing walk throughs, we decided on Travis. His attention to the different areas of our buildings that would need repair, lead abatement, more than two coats etc. was extremely thorough.

At the beginning of the job, it became apparent that we had chosen too light a color for one of the houses. Luckily the crew agreed to stop painting so we could address it. After choosing a better color, they corrected the two sides that had been painted too light. – AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

The crew was also very thorough in their prep for painting. A number of times they covered cars in plastic just in case.

Our Board had budgeted a large amount for this job, and Travis came in under budget and on schedule. The houses look great, and we couldn’t be happier.

Travis Kunkel, the owner, is a consummate professional and an experienced businessman. He took us through color selection (more valuable than you think it is), paint materials, and took us step-by-step through the entire process. He is tremendously detail-oriented and so is his crew. They painted two rooms in our house, the kitchen and master bedroom, and the work is immaculate. They moved the large pieces of furniture and after a day’s work, you would never have known there were painters in the house at all — it was that clean. No hyperbole there, it really was spotless. Travis came in the next day for a walk-through (how many paint contractors do THAT?) and personally touched up a couple of places to perfection. Then he asked us more questions about the quality of the work, wanted feedback on the crew, and all in all, made us feel as though we were his only client…which we are not, by any means. He’s quite popular, and those who have used his services know why. He goes the extra step, the extra mile…whatever it takes to do the job not just right, but excellently. I just can’t recommend him enough. He made the whole process perfect for us, and we’ll use him again. In fact, we are using him again for another job — already signed him up. I’m on his reference list, which is a mile long, filled with pretty much anyone he’s ever done work for. Call him, and feel free to call me, too. You’ll be nothing but satisfied. These guys are that good.

Northwest is incredible. 2 years ago we used them to fix a ceiling-removal-via-tape debacle along with changing our split level entryway wall from super old wallpaper to a textured, painted wall. The ceiling job was immaculate – can’t see where the new paint is and it’s so seamless it’s as though it were just a nightmare. We’ve used a recent contractor for a bathroom remodel and when they had to touch up the ceiling where they worked, it was sad to see the flashing left and ignored by those painters. Travis’s guys even fixed a previous contractor’s (who had tried fixing it 3xs and still failed!) smooth to texture error and it is once again such a seamless blend. Lastly, the now textured accent wall is not only fantastic, the texture matches so well that it looks like the original house’s texture (you can’t do that with regular spray-on texture!). They worked quick, they were clean, and they were very clear to communicate with. I’ve referred them to multiple people because of how happy I was.

Most recently we wanted to make sure we were getting the most competitive pricing for some final home updates before we sell. I only reached out to those that had very positive reviews (and of course Northwest). Travis came out for the bid. He was very prompt and when asked his opinion on certain things was able to give me an educated opinion. He even pointed out a few issues that had escaped my eye. His bid came back to be the best out of 4. If you are debating whether or not to get a bid or to use Travis’s services – don’t. You won’t regret it!

I don’t write many reviews. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I am a very busy guy. But I feel it is important to give a positive shout out when someone I hire does a great job. It’s real easy these days to whine and complain and throw some shade on a company. Social media makes “one way” complaining real easy to do. Northwest Residential and Commercial Painting Company painted the interior of a rental property I own. It wasn’t just the paint. The drywall was textured in the mid 70’s and looked like a relief map of the Alps complete with peaks and valleys. Jeez, if the sun was just right, I could swear the bumpy wall texture cast shadows! So NW did a TON of prep work and drywall repair. The job included the ceilings, as I had an EPA approved company remove the asbestos laden popcorn ceiling last year. They gouged the ceiling in a number of places. With all of the work necessary to prep the ceiling and walls, it took NW Paint 2 1/2 weeks to finish that job. Is that too long? In my opinion, no. After they were finished I went over that place with my trusty military grade flashlight on high and you know what? I couldn’t find a glitch or screw up anywhere. I took a couple guys I work with over to see the finished product and one asked me if I had gutted the place and installed all new drywall. I did not. NW Painting made it look like new. The pricing was within the 3 bids I received. It wasn’t the lowest price but then, I wasn’t looking for cheap. Overall, Travis and his crew did a commendable job. At the end, I required a walk-thru before final payment. We met, did the walk-thru and settled up. For all of this, I feel a 5 star rating is warranted. Thank you!

We just repainted most of the interior of our house. Travis and his crew were courteous, professional and talented. They reviewed their work with me on a daily basis and paid attention to details. They were extremely responsive when questions arose about paint colors and worked hard to eradicate any problems encountered along the way. I’d highly recommend them for any interior or exterior painting needed. This is our second time using them for a major project and I would contact them immediately should the need arise again to paint.
